Puppy

I have a new springer spaniel puppy called Maddy! She is nine and a half weeks old and has been with me for almost a week now.

Having a new puppy is very full on. My friend/housemate/puppy co-parent is moving in with me in a week or so, so that should give me more time, but I probably won’t be doing much blogging or commenting on other people’s blogs for a while (I haven’t got much time for serious reading either!)

Maddy is a very good girl already, despite her dislike of The Perfect Puppy, and I’m sure she will soon settle in ♥️

  1. Totally adorable! It’s been a very long time since I had a dog and, since my current feline companions would veto any additions to our household, I’m afraid I don’t have any prospects of getting one in the immediate future. Your photos, however, remind me of how much fun a puppy can be.

  2. Maddy is so cute! Springer Spaniels are so clever and affectionate. I recently adopted a Brittany (not a puppy, though), and I totally relate. It took me some time to get back to reading and blogging, but it was totally worth it. Have fun with your new dog! 🙂

  3. How adorable 🥰 I would love a dog and now that I finally own my own apartment I can do so. But but but … I don’t think it’s fair to buy a dog and then keep it indoors all day while I am at work. So that dream is on hold for awhile but I like to live vicariously through other people’s dog adventures. 😃

  4. Aww, yay! Welcome to Maddy. Even adopting an adult cat was quite the learning curve for us some years back. I’m sure a new puppy is up there close to a new baby for disruptiveness! I was too young, or off at uni, when my family got our pups, so I don’t remember the tricky early days. I hope all goes well and you are soon taking her off on your adventures to the sorts of lovely Northumberland places I’ve been seeing this week 🙂

    • Yes, I’d always assumed cats are ultra low maintenance, so have been surprised to hear how much work it is at the start from friends with new cats/kittens! Maddy is very full on. We had two new puppies in our family when I was 15 and I did help out with taking for walks etc but it’s completely different when you are totally responsible!
